Project Based Rental Assistance

Subsidized Housing Developments make federally subsidized rental units available for low-income individuals and families. Project-based assistance means the financial aid is attached to the property itself, not the tenant.

Do I qualify?

Generally, residents of Section 8 apartments can earn no more than 80% of the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) median family income for their community and household size. The income restrictions vary by household size and the community in which the apartment is located. Median income levels are published by HUD and vary by location. The Public Housing Authority serving your community can also provide you with the income limits for your area and family size.
