Check out our Steps to Buying a Home and register for a Homebuyer Education class today.
For co-borrowers, only one borrower is required to take the Homebuyer Education class.
Our virtual Homebuyer Education Classes help prospective homebuyers understand the process of buying and keeping a home.
From time-to-time, we also offer in-person classes in English and Spanish in partnership with our Participating Lenders.
eHomeAmerica’s on-demand class features the same basic principles as our “live” class. These on-demand classes are available 24/7, are self-paced and offered in English and Spanish. There is a one-time fee of $50.
Buyers who apply for our Renovation Mortgage/203(k) loan are required to complete this class, in addition to the general First-time Homebuyer Education class. Others are welcome to take the course, which covers important information if purchasing a home needing repairs. There is a one-time fee of $15
*Please note that the completion of RIHousing’s Homebuyer Education class may not satisfy the Homebuyer Education requirements for other lenders or agencies providing down payment and/or closing cost assistance. *Certificates obtained through a RI-based, non-profit, HUD counseling approved organization are also accepted.
Then you’ll need to complete Landlord-Tenant education in addition to our regular Homebuyer Education class. Learn about leasing, repairs and everything else you need to know to become a successful landlord.
Offered through The Housing Network of Rhode Island at locations throughout the state (in English and Spanish). There is a fee to attend this class.
